Gait Disturbances in Patients With Pontine Medial Tegmental Lesions

Abstract

Medial tegmental lesions in the rostral pons cause prolonged and severe unstable walking that resembles spinocerebellar ataxic pattern, and impairment of the spinocerebellar loop might be the pathomechanism underlying such a gait disturbance.
