Abstract: Pulmonologists and intensivists often care for patients at risk for infections caused by both Aspergillus and Candida. Infection with either can lead to severe life-threatening disease, particularly in immunosuppressed patients, with mortality rates for invasive fungal disease often exceeding 30%.
