From continuity of information to continuity of care through user software 'Syntegra'

Abstract

Enhancing continuity of information and the promotion of health care is one of the biggest challenges in improving health information systems. The aim of this study was to explain the preliminary stages of development and implementation of electronic nursing documentation via user software ' Syntegra.' Strategic Studies (SWOT analysis), shows a preliminary analysis of the development and implementation of electronic nursing documentation via user software ' Syntegra ' which is used in the Clinical Center of Serbia, as tracker the movement of drugs and medical supplies. In addition to the strategic analysis the descriptive statistical method questionnaire was performed and send to 49 e - mail addresses of staff nurses who work daily in this application software. Studies and surveys were conducted during 2013. By applying, a SWOT analysis shows the internal strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats on the basis of which can be done by the development and implementation of electronic nursing documentation using the existing software. Based on the results of the study and descriptive statistical analysis of the questionnaire it was noted that there is an opportunity to do an upgrade of existing software and the application of nursing documentation in electronic form.
