Abstract: AbstractThis paper presents the study of the vibratory behavior of rotating composite shafts. The composite shaft contains isotropic rigid disks and is supported by bearings that are modeled as springs and viscous dampers. An hp-version of the Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to model the structure. A hierarchical finite element of beam type with six degrees of freedom per node is developed.
