“…Various TCE materials, such as Ag nanowires, carbon nanotube, Al‐doped ZnO, ITO/FTO and graphene are incorporated with VO 2 to activate its thermochromic performance. Specially, as shown in Figure a–d, the electrothermochromic device combining VO 2 nanoparticles with ultra‐long Ag nanowires can regulate the infrared transmittance dynamically as the input voltage and action time change.…”

“…The infrared modulation has high stability and reversibility, and the infrared response time depends on the input voltage: the higher the input voltage, the shorter the response time . This kind of electrothermochromic device can also be built on layered transferable mica sheets to expand the applications of VO 2 (Figures e and f) . Beydaghyan and co‐workers fabricated VO 2 films on ITO sublayers, which showed that the MIT in VO 2 can be induced by Joule heating produced by ITO layer, and a reversible transmission switching reaches as much as 65% at 2500 nm.…”

“…Hybrid metasurfaces can be dynamically tuned on demand by external stimuli, including carrier injection into the semiconductors, gate‐controlled graphene, phase transition of the phase‐change materials (PCMs), and electrically biasing the liquid‐crystal materials . Among them all, vanadium dioxide (VO 2 ) is particularly interesting as its intrinsic insulator‐to‐metal phase transition (IMT) is reversible through various external stimuli such as thermal heating, applied current, and optical pumping . Such ability endows VO 2 a fantastic candidate in electrically triggered and optical modulated hybrid metasurfaces.…”

“…We note that, until now, there are few studies about crystalline WO 3 thin film deposited onto flexible natural mica. Furthermore, because of the weak van der Waals interaction between mica layers, the substrate could be thinned to obtain a nearly freestanding heterostructure by exfoliation and cleaving methods . The fabricated heterostructure owns inherent flexible nature without any redundant transfer progress.…”
