Framework of 5S Quality Management for University Ecosystem to Achieve Green Campus

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to evaluate framework of 5S quality management for university ecosystem to achieve green campus. The main elements in 5S quality management are sort (seiri), set in order (seiton), shine (seiso), standardize (seiketsu), and sustain (shitsuke). The 5S quality improvement method is defined as a methodology that results in a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity. It's designed to help build a quality work enviro… Show more

“…Monte Carlo simulation is a technique for simulating the probability of an outcome based on probability distribution, which achieves more accurate coverage of uncertainty. The essence of this simulation is in the random generation of data based on probability distribution, with the aim of simulating the sampling process from the actual population (Bakar & Rosbi, 2019).…”

“…Thus, 5S implement in organizations can be defined as a methodology that results the workplace become clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity. 5S practice also was designed to help build a quality work environment, both physically and mentally (Abu Bakar, et al, 2019). Therefore, the function of 5S practices is to improve process of efficiency and safety, reduces waste, prevents errors and defects in organizations.…”

“…The sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain (5S) method is straightforward yet impactful for reducing inefficiencies and enhancing productivity within the workplace [ 1 ]. The 5S management method, integral to lean principles, has been extensively utilized across diverse industries to streamline workplace organization, enhance efficiency, minimize waste, and optimize quality and productivity by maintaining an organized environment [ 2 ]. Waste encompasses any element that does not enhance the process or provide value.…”
