“…The drug regimen has not been well studied. Several case reports showed that systemic flucytosine (150 mg/kg/day), 9 itraconazole (200 mg/day), 10 ketoconazole (200 mg/day), 11 and intravenous amphotericin B have been helpful, but relapse is not uncommon. Intralesional amphotericin B (30–50 mg/day) was reported to be helpful 8 .…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…5-Flucytosine (5-FC) is an antimetabolite drug with excellent activity against Candida spp, Cryptococcus neoformans and Chromomycosis spp (22, 23). Resistance develops rapidly to 5-FC mono-therapy, so clinicians have reserved it for combination therapy to augment other antifungals.…”

“…Frequent development of resistance to 5-FC during therapy has restricted its use as a single drug in the treatment of fungal infections (4,14). However, 5-FC can be used effectively in combination with amphotericin B.…”

“…5-Fluorocytosine (5-FC; flucytosine) is a fluoropyrimidine that is used primarily in the management of systemic mycoses, such as candidiasis, chromoblastomycosis, cryptococcal meningitis, and torulopsosis (1,2). Frequent development of resistance to 5-FC during therapy has restricted its use as a single drug in the treatment of fungal infections (4,14). However, 5-FC can be used effectively in combination with amphotericin B.…”
