“…Recently, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometry, gas chromatography, and high-performance liquid chromatography have been used to detect Hg 2+ and Ag + ions. 23 Unfortunately, because of the increasing equipment costs, sophisticated procedure processes, and skilled supervision, the widespread use of the traditional methods mentioned above has been limited. Fluorescent probe technologies provide significant advantages over these advanced systems for Hg 2+ and Ag + detection, along with excellent sensitivity, high selectivity, ease of operation, low cost, and real-time sensing.…”

“…In recent literature, several fluorescent probes are often used to monitor environmental and biological samples for Hg 2+ and Ag + ions. 23 However, these luminous probes have some disadvantages, such as low sensitivity and a high limit of detection (LOD), which limits their practical applicability. As a result of the aforementioned challenges, as well as the prospective application of luminous chromophores, the development of advanced and novel luminous probes with many more advantages in the domains of agricultural, environmental, and biological studies remains promising and significant.…”

“…The development of silatrane-based chemosensors can lead to the creation of new promising materials [ 64 , 65 , 66 , 67 ]. In this line, Singh et al published a number of papers on the synthesis of hybrid functional derivatives of APS, which are molecular sensors for the recognition of various anions and cations with promising applications [ 64 , 65 , 66 , 67 , 68 , 69 ]. For example, the fluorescence titration results revealed a selective on–off fluorescence response of urea-silatranes ( 29 ) toward biologically significant acetate anion ( Figure 8 ) [ 64 ].…”

“…The triazole group has an effective binding unit that can be used for the recognition of various ions. For example, triazolylsilatranes ( 33 ) showed good selectivity towards metal ions, such as Cu 2+ , Hg 2+ , Pb 2+ [ 68 ], and exceptional selectivity with respect to Ag + ( Figure 9 ) [ 69 ].…”

“…A unique feature of these silatrane molecules is the coordination bond between nitrogen and a silicon atom which reduces susceptibility to acid -base hydrolysis and hence imparts stability to the compounds. [13][14][15][16][17] In the present article, we have synthesized antipyrine blended azomethine based silatranes and considered the dynamic presentation of designed hybrid scrutinized as the receptor for various metal ion sensing. Now, with respect to the chemosensing potential of the receptor, the sensor exhibited selectivity, sensitivity, use of aqueous solution and low detection limit.…”
