First Records of Condylostylus purpureus (Aldrich, 1901) (Diptera: Dolichopodidae) in the Nearctic Region

Abstract:Condylostylus has been represented in the Nearctic Region by 32 documented species (Bickel 2003, Pollet et al. 2004. Here, I report Condy lostylus purpureus (Aldrich, 1901) for the first time in the Nearctic Region, with a proposed diagnosis for males of the spe cies in the Nearctic and a distribution map of confirmed Nearctic records.An undocumented species of Condy lostylus was first photographed in south ern Florida in the spring of 2010 (https:// bugguide.net/node/view/385054).
