First record of Dynomene (Brachyura, Dromioidea) from the Eocene of the Iberian Peninsula and remarks on the generic placement of Eoacantholobulus oscensis (Brachyura, Xanthoidea)

Abstract: A new species of Dynomene from the Priabonian (Upper Eocene) of the central Pyrenees in Aragón (Spain) is described as the first record of the genus from the Iberian Peninsula. The new species reveals close similarities to other dromioid species described from the Priabonian of Hungary. The panopeid Eoacantholobulus oscensis Ossó & Domínguez, 2017, from the same locality, is reviewed and transferred to the genus Sculptoplax, after comparisons with specimens of Sculptoplax rigida Müller & Collins, 1991… Show more

“…Decapod crustaceans studied in the present study come from lower Priabonian strata and were collected near the village of Fanlillo (Figure 1), in the municipality of Yebra de Basa (province of Huesca, Spain). This outcrop shows a great abundance and diversity of small benthic invertebrates including gastropods, bivalves, bryozoans, foraminifera, and decapod crustaceans Ossó et al, 2014;Domínguez and Ossó, 2016;Ossó and Domínguez, 2017;Ossó et al, 2020;Ferratges et al, 2023).…”
