In this advance technical time, we all need accuracy to any security system. Among all security system, biometric recognition process is very popular in that time. Not only security purpose, identification is the main cause of using biometric characteristic. A pin, password combination is not enough to secure all things because that’s tracking is possible, but a person biometric characteristic is unique, so it is near to impossible to by-pass. In this paper, we discuss about the fingerprint types such as arch, loop, and whorl. We also discuss how the fingerprint will be recognized; however, where this technique is used in very large scale and what is the future scope of this technique, we discuss what improvement is needed in future.

The contactless bank card is a replica of the old fashion payment methods. The contactless card saves the customer a lot of time and effort because the cardholder can tap the card on the card reader instead of carrying a massive amount of cash or memorizing a long password. The transaction will be done in a few seconds, which is a magnificent technique for a very rush and speedy world like this. However, because the contactless card does not require a PIN or signature, it is vulnerable to different types of attacks, and the card can be used by every single person who has the card, even if they are not the real cardholder. Nevertheless, for each new problem, there is a unique solution. Hence this paper presents an innovative way to overcome this problem by embedding a fingerprint sensor into the contactless card to add an extra level of security by creating a virtual environment giving a contactless card and using a minutiae-based algorithm for fingerprint recognition in this contactless card. The work is evaluated based on accuracy using two metrics, false acceptance rate (FAR) and false rejection rate (FRR), algorithm’s matching time, and transaction time. This work shows a good result regarding the transaction time and the possibility of integrating the fingerprint into the contactless card. It displays how fingerprint image quality and features affect fingerprint authentication results. However, it also shows that minutiae-based techniques are not adequate when the dataset is relatively small and has data with low-quality and/or noisy data.

Biometrics based on fingerprint images is a self-recognition technique using fingerprint to represent a person's identity. Fingerprint is characteristic of someone's identity precisely and safely because there are no similarities and cannot be falsified. The purpose of this research is to develop a biometrics identification system based on fingerprint images by utilizing a cell phone camera for the acquisition of fingerprint images. This is based on its simplicity because almost everyone has a cell phone so that a person's identification system based on fingerprint can be used anytime and anywhere. The research was conducted using images generated from cell phone cameras with camera specifications of 2, 5 and 8 mega pixels. The method used in image processing consists of the minutiae crossing number method for the feature extraction process and the minutiae based matching method for the similarity measurement process. The results of the research concluded that cell phone cameras with specifications of 5 and 8 mega pixels can be used for the process of image acquisition in biometrics systems based on fingerprint. The feature extraction process of image results using the minutiae crossing number method and the match measurement process using the minutiae based matching method resulted in an accuracy value of 92.8% on a 5 mega pixel camera and 95.3% on an 8 mega pixel camera. The accuracy value depends on the results of the image acquisition stage, pre-processing, the threshold value in the identification process, and the number of images used in the training data in the database.
