Abstract: The Closure of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong 1 O n Monday, 19 October 1987, following three successive days' decline on the New York stock market, which was a 10.5% fall in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the Hong Kong stock market fell by about 11.1% on a turnover of $4,176 million.
