Abstract: In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), cardiac autoantibodies are able to bind with their Fab fragment to epitopes on cardiomyocytes, but thereafter they crosslink through their Fc fragment to cardiac Fc(gamma)-receptor IIa.
