The rapid development of mobile phone technologies in recent years promoted them for being used in various areas of life, such as commercial, health, transportation and tourism and other uses. In this paper, a software engineering based fault tolerance model is proposed to manage the expected faults in the adopted servers. The underlying QR based information system in plants shopping center employs different local serves allocated at local shops that are connected to the main server. In a fault case detection at any local server, the main server can cover the management of the system until the maintenance is completed. This is performed in efficient way as the main server keeps a copy of the information for all local branches. It is important to note that the self-checking process is adopted for fault detection. After completing the maintenance, a copy of the updated information is sent back to the investigated local server including all sales, etc. Moreover, the main and local servers contain information about all offer’s plants in different languages and in text and image form, customer's information and admin's information. The proposed system is tested in several cases to prove the efficiency and effectivity in retrieving and managing information and data as well as the fault tolerance administration.

Performance is a critical attribute in evaluating the quality and dependability of service-oriented systems dependent on fault-tolerantarchitectures. Fault-tolerant architectures have been implemented with redundant techniques to ensure fault-tolerant services. However, replica-related overhead burdens fault-tolerant techniques with associated performance degradation in service delivery, and this consequentially discourages service consumers with discredits for service providers. In this paper, a fault-tolerant approach thatadopts replication and diversity was employed on agent-oriented coordination toward guaranteeing the performance of the proposedfault-tolerant architecture solution under a large-scale service request load. In addition, the resultant architecture solution was simulated with Apache JMeter for performance evaluation considering the performability in the absence and presence of a fault load. The simulation experiments and results revealed the architecture’s efficiency in fault tolerance via the timely coordination of logicaland replica-related activities by software agents. Noteworthily, the continued service availability and performance were guaranteed for the architecture solution with a significant rate of regularity in the absence and presence of a replica-related fault. Therefore, this study’s performance evaluation methods and results could serve as a veritable milestone for building fault-tolerant service systems with appreciable performability and contribute to the service-oriented fields where performance is inevitable.

SummaryEnsuring the seamless operation of cloud computing services is paramount for meeting user demands and ensuring business continuity. Fault‐tolerant self‐healing techniques play a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and availability of cloud platforms, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted service delivery. This article systematically categorizes and analyzes existing research on fault‐tolerant self‐healing techniques published between 2005 and 2024. We provide a comprehensive technical taxonomy organizing self‐healing techniques based on fault tolerance processes, encompassing considerations for both reliability and availability. Additionally, we evaluate applications of proactive self‐healing techniques, highlighting their achievements, and limitations in enhancing service continuity. Strategies to address identified weaknesses are discussed, alongside future research challenges and open issues in the domain of cloud resilience. Through this analysis, the article contributes to understanding self‐healing techniques in cloud computing, offering insights into their effectiveness in ensuring service continuity. The findings aim to guide future research efforts in developing more robust and resilient cloud infrastructures, ultimately enhancing overall service reliability and availability. By emphasizing the importance of fault tolerance and self‐healing techniques, this article lays the foundation for advancing the state‐of‐the‐art in cloud computing.
