Abstract: The factors that influence the application of pressure perturbation calorimetry in studying the volume change of the phase transition of lipids are discussed. These factors include a correction for the temperature-shift induced by perturbation, the kinetic irreversibility of the phase transition and the magnitude of the pressure perturbation.
