“…Common approaches have utilised appropriately functionalised POSS reagents to effect co‐reaction with the oxazine ring, such as vinyl groups and glycidyl ethers . Alongside the more numerous studies examining the effects of blending POSS with PBZ and its blends or copolymers such as bisoxazolines or epoxies is the use of benzoxazines as pendant groups within more flexible fluoropolymer films . Less common is the use of more sophisticated synthetic methodologies such as the use of click chemistry to introduce benzoxazine functionality into a POSS reagent, but a model POSS reagent with mixed functionality, allowing the potential for the formation of an A–B copolymer, has been reported .…”

“…In 1994, the synthesis and properties of crosslinked polybenzoxazines and their properties were first reported by Ning and Ishida 14. Since then, numerous articles have been published on monomeric benzoxazines,15–27 main‐chain type polybenzoxazine28–39 and side‐chain type polybenzoxazines 40–45. It is this high molecular weight polybenzoxazine precursors with side‐chain type structures that the current article aims at developing because high‐molecular weight precursors offer usual thermoplastic properties, such as good film forming ability and solubility in solvent for easy structural analysis.…”

“…Boz‐BOA was synthesized in three steps as shown in Scheme . Nonpolar solvent, such as chloroform, toluene, and xylene, was regarded as appropriate solvent to synthesize benzoxazines in general 19, 20. However, because of the poor solubility of Boz‐2 in nonpolar solvent, DMF was added to 1,4‐dioxane as a cosolvent in this case.…”
