Abstract: Hyperthermic intraoperative intracavitary cisplatin perfusion following extrapleural pneumonectomy can be performed with acceptable morbidity and mortality. The use of amifostine in addition to sodium thiosulfate might reduce cisplatin-associated renal toxicity. Hyperthermic intraoperative intracavitary cisplatin perfusion following extrapleural pneumonectomy might enhance local control in the chest.
