Expression of L‐type amino acid transporter 1 (LAT1) and 4F2 heavy chain (4F2hc) in liver tumor lesions of rat models

Abstract: LAT1 was related to tumor growth. We think that LAT1 can possibly enhance its ability to promote tumor growth in cooperation with 4F2hc.

“…We compared LAT1 expression between tumors with diameters of <3 and !3 cm, between <4 and !4 cm, and between <5 and !5 cm, and found that LAT1 was more strongly expressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma with a maximum tumor diameter of 4 cm or greater compared to that with a diameter of less than 4 cm. This finding supported the finding that LAT1 expression increased with the size of liver metastases in a rat colon carcinoma liver metastasis model reported by Tamai et al [7]. However, the important prognostic factor in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma was the presence or absence of lymph node metastasis, and LAT1 expression was not different between cases with and without lymph node metastasis.…”
