Experimental Stark Widths and Shifts for Spectral Lines of Neutral and Ionized Atoms (A Critical Review of Selected Data for the Period 1989 Through 2000)

Abstract: A critical review of the available experimental data on Stark widths and shifts for spectral lines of nonhydrogenic neutral atoms and positive ions has been carried out. The review covers the period from 1989 through the end of 2000 and represents a continuation of earlier critical reviews up to 1988. Data tables containing the selected experimental Stark broadening parameters are presented with estimated accuracies. Guidelines for the accuracy estimates, developed during the previous reviews, are summarized a… Show more

“…The experimental data were obtained form various plasma sources with different plasma conditions and with different plasma diagnostic methods. These experimental conditions are summarized in Konjević & Roberts (1976); Konjević et al (1984); Konjević & Wiese (1990); Konjević et al (2002); Lesage (2009 Kusch (1971), which show higher values for He I 3889 (see Fig. 23) and lower values for He I 5016 (results not shown in Fig.…”

“…The first group (Blagojević et al 1999(Blagojević et al , 2000 used a low-pressure pulsed arc and the second group (Wrubel et al 1996(Wrubel et al , 1998) used a gas-liner pinch. The accuracy of the experimental line widths is generally given by Konjević et al (2002) except for the few cases where other references have been mentioned. For 2s3s 1 S ← 2s3p 1 P transitions in F VI ions, we compared our results with w 1 of Elabidi et al (2008) as there are no experimental results available yet.…”

“…Finally, in the last two columns, we give the accuracies and the references of the experimental results. For the estimates, we use code letters used by Konjević et al [24] which indicate the following:…”
