A Chemically Induced Experimental Ocular Hypertension for Evaluating Drug Effects in Albino Rabbits

“…Some of the procedures described previously include : replacement of aqueous humor with methylcellulose ( 1 ), subconjunctival injection of phenol (2), placement of polyethylene tubing in the angle of the anterior chamber ( 3 ) , injection of alpha-chymotrypsin into the posterior chamber (4) and "water loading" animals via gastric intubation ( 5 ) . None of these methods fulfilled all of the criteria for an optimal test system.…”
