Abstract: Although syngas combustion has been extensively investigated, previous studies did not systematically examine the fuel-NO x formation from ammonia-containing syngas in both N2 and CO2 atmospheres. Investigations on syngas-ammonia oxidation are significant for suppressing the fuel-NO x emission from the combustion of actual syngas containing NH3. This study presents new experimental results on syngas-ammonia oxidation under both N2 and CO2 atmospheres in a jet-stirred reactor. The effects of CO2 concentration… Show more

“…The change might be a result of the reduced residence time of ammonia and combustion products confined in the quartz tube, thus a less extent of NO reducing reactions by the unburned fuels. Some previous works reported similar influences of flow residence time on other types of combustors. ,, This calls for mechanistic explorations on nitrogen transformation in our tangential swirl burner.…”

“…Developing substitutes of petroleum is a great strategic requirement for solving the contradiction between world energy demand and structural status. , Ethanol, which is considered a promising energy resource, reduces greenhouse gases and pollutant emissions from fuel and is an important chemical raw material. At present, ethanol production methods include ethylene hydration, biological fermentation, and syngas . Syngas can be obtained from a wide variety of raw materials, such as biomass, coal, and natural gas, through gasification and reforming. , Therefore, CO hydrogenation to ethanol is an important research area in ethanol synthesis.…”
