Abstract: Sodium valproate is an effective antiepileptic drug used as monotherapy or adjuvant/alternative with other antiepileptic drugs. Haematological toxicity of this drug, though rare, is now an established fact and comprises mainly of neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and aplastic anemia.
