Abstract: Using the hydrodynamic model of a homogeneous plasma, the modulational decay of a laser beam into an acoustic wave and another electromagnetic wave is studied in heavily doped n-type semiconductors in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. The decay process results in the excitation of the hybrid mode.
