Exazerbation eines Morbus Hailey-Hailey durch Infektion mit Herpes-simplex-Virus Nachweis mittels Polymerasekettenreaktion

Abstract: A 49-year-old man suffered from Hailey-Hailey disease for several years. The patient presented with an acute exacerbation of the disease, which did not respond to oral treatment with high doses of glucocorticosteroids. A skin biopsy was taken and the histological examination indicated a viral infection. Herpes simplex virus was confirmed by electron microscopy (negative staining) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The PCR presents a sensitive and effective molecular-biological method for the diagnosis of vir… Show more

“…Die PCR weist hochsensitiv die Anwesenheit von HSV-DNA nach, kann zwischen HSV-1 und HSV-2 unterscheiden und ist auch ohne intakte Bläschen durchführbar [55]. Vorteil der Viruskultur ist die Bestätigung einer manifesten Virusinfektion durch den Nachweis aktiver Virionen.…”

“…Hailey–Hailey disease is a condition marked by chronic recalcitrant skin lesions localized mainly to flexural areas of the body 2 . Exacerbation of the disease can be induced by infections with Candida albicans , 4 herpes simplex virus, 5,6 pyogenic bacteria, 7 by contact sensitivity and allergy patch testing, 6,8 ultraviolet B radiation 9 and mechanical trauma 8 …”
