Purpose: Ergonomics is a branch of science that uses scientific methods to improve the workplaces and environments to maximize the comfort and safety of humans. In this study, we suggest new classroom furniture dimensions defining the problems about environmental factors in the classrooms such as noise, light, air conditioning, or temperature by considering the real data obtained from a university. Methodology: A questionnaire is prepared to determine the most complained problems by the students about the classroom furniture and environment. A total of 219 students participate in the questionnaire at a university in Ankara, Turkey. The dissatisfaction scores are evaluated for each question to define the most complained problems. Findings: The results show that most of the students are not satisfied with the use of tablet-armed chairs due to different reasons. To solve the problems, the anthropometric measurements of the students are evaluated. Based on these measurements, new furniture dimensions are suggested and compared with the existing ones. Originality: The ergonomic classroom design in this study is an original work that is designed according to the data obtained from the university in concern. It is aimed that the implemented methodology and the comprehensive literature review for the ergonomic classroom design in this study can be a source of inspiration for the educational institutions.

Bu çalışmada bir organik gübre çeşidi olan solucan gübresi üretiminin yaygınlaşması amacıyla, bu alanda yatırım yapmayı düşünen karar vericiler için bir karar destek sistemi (KDS) geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen KDS yatırımcıya, yatırımın olurluluğu, farklı kısıtlar (bütçe, alan, teknik vb.) altında üretilecek gübre miktarı, oluşacak maliyetler ve grafik ile desteklenmiş ekonomik analizler açısından destek vermektedir. Geliştirilen karar destek sisteminin karar vericiye sunacağı bilgilerin doğruluğunu sağlamak üzere öncelikle, Eskişehir il sınırlarında yer alan bir tesis ayrıntılı bir şekilde incelenmiş, solucan miktarının zaman içindeki değişimini tahmin edebilecek bir tahmin modeli oluşturulmuş ve bir solucan gübresi tesisinin olurluluk çalışmasında yer alması gereken tüm maliyet kalemleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bütçe kısıtı altında üretilen solucan gübresi miktarını eniyileyecek ve seçilmesi gereken üretim yöntemi ve üretim kapasitesini belirleyecek bir karar modeli geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen karar destek sistemi yatırımcıların olurluluk ve ekonomik analizleri kolayca yapabilmelerini sağlayacağından, solucan üretiminin yaygınlaşmasına katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir. Bu da ülke ekonomisi, çevre ve insan sağlığı açısından olumlu sonuçlar doğuracaktır. Abstract Vermicompost, Decision support system, Mathematical modeling, Feasibility analysis.In this study, a decision support system (DSS) has been developed for the decision makers who plan to invest in this field in order to expand the production of vermicompost, which is a type of organic fertilizer. Developed DSS supports the decision makers in terms of feasibility of investment, the amount of fertilizer to be produced under different constraints (budget, field, technical etc.), costing and graph-supported economic analysis. To ensure the accuracy of the information that the decision support system will provide to the decision-maker, firstly a facility located in Eskisehir province borders has been examined in detail, a forecasting model has been created to forecast the change in the amount of worms over time and all cost items that should be included in the feasibility of a worm fertilizer plant have been determined. In addition, a mathematical model has been developed to optimize the amount of worm castings produced under budget constraint and determine the production method and production capacity to be selected. It is expected to contribute to the spread of worm production, as developed decision support system will allow investors to easily perform feasibility and economic analysis.
