Natural disasters are phenomena that cause losses to humans. Therefore, research on disaster education must be intensified in areas where natural disasters frequently occur. Tawangmangu is an area that is prone to landslides. This research aims to analyze landslide vulnerability in Tawangmangu Sub-District, determine the distribution of schools in landslide-prone areas, and the school community’s knowledge of the Disaster Safe Education Unit (SPAB). This research is qualitative research based on literature studies, school locations, landslide disaster vulnerability data as well as policies and history of SPAB implementation in Tawangmangu. Determining the research location based on the level of landslide vulnerability in Tawangmangu which shows that most of the area is in the high vulnerability category. The research results show that the actual condition of schools prone to landslides in Tawangmangu is 54%, but individual knowledge about SPAB is still very low. The SPAB program needs to be implemented in schools prone to landslides in Tawangmangu Sub-District.

Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency has an area of 7,002.94 Ha consisting of 10 villages. Topographically located on the western slope of Mount Lawu with a predominantly steep slope, which has an altitude between 655 m and 3,265 meters above sea level. The development of agribusiness-oriented dryland agriculture, natural tourism destinations, and the establishment of residential buildings that increasingly provide job and business opportunities so that there is an increase in government income and surrounding communities. This condition impacts population pressure on land, so the risk of landslides is thought to be higher. Areas prone to landslides are in the central part of Bandardawung Village, Along Village in the west and central regions, Plumbon Village in the middle and east, and Tengklik Village in the west. The study’s purpose, located in Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency, is to determine the reduction of landslide risk for sustainable land use. Descriptive quantitative research methods include determining area function, vulnerability, vulnerability, and landslide risk using scoring and weighting of observation data. The results of the research show that villages that have a high risk of landslides are areas that have a high risk of landslides, namely Blumbang Village, Kalisoro Village, and Tawangmangu Village.

İşletmelerin faaliyetlerini sürdürdüğü coğrafi yeri ifade eden kuruluş yeri bir işletmenin ayakta kalması ve sürdürülebilirliği için kritik öneme sahiptir. Sanayi tesisleri sadece kurucuların değil aynı zamanda ekonominin ve ülke refahının ana unsurlarındandır. Bu açıdan bakıldığında sanayi tesisleri sadece İşletme disiplininin değil ekonomik coğrafyanın da önde gelen inceleme alanları arasındadır. Ekonomi ve coğrafya açısından bakıldığında kuruluş yeri seçerken doğal afetler üzerinde durulması da önem arz etmektedir. Doğal afetlerin insanlar ve onların kurduğu yapılara etkisi insanın yeryüzündeki yaşam yolculuğu ile başlar. Tabii ki oluşum ve etkileri oluştuğu coğrafya ve zamana göre değişiklik göstermektedir. Dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de afet riski taşıyan bölgelerde sanayi tesislerinin kurulacağı yerin neresi olacağı önemli bir karardır. Çünkü oluşabilecek afet tıpkı insanların yaşadığı konutları etkilediği gibi sanayi kuruluşlarının iş operasyonlarını ve varlıklarını ciddi şekilde etkileme potansiyeline sahiptir. Afet riski yüksek olan bölgelerde kuruluş yeri seçerken; bölgedeki jeolojik ve sismik riskler, iklimsel tehditler, mevcut su kaynakları ve sel riskleri, yangın riski, toprak kaymaları ve heyelanlar, tsunami riski, fırtına ve hortumlar, bölgenin altyapısı ve ulaşım imkânları, sigorta ve acil durum planları, yerel yönetmelikler ve izinler ve topluluk ilişkileri dikkate alınması gereken faktörler arasındadır. Çalışmada afet riski yüksek olan bölgelerde yer seçimi yaparken hangi faktörlere dikkat edilmesi gerektiği ve iyi uygulama örneklerine değinilecektir.
