Abstract: I am a lay member and over a number of years have seen an alarming number of applications from students who appear to have received inadequate supervision. My first instinct is that this is an application from a student whose supervisor has not done their work in advising on the research or who has poor knowledge in the fields of ethics/children/sport/health.
