Estimate of Dynamic Sector Capacity Considering Hazardous Weather

Abstract: During the course of flight, we need to estimate regional sector dynamic capacity in order to assure the safety and efficiency of operation. Subjected to the controller workload and the decrease of CNS performance under the hazardous weather, and the controller workload is related to the degree of hazardous weather at the same time, the capacity on a route changing over time, the capacity of the associated sectors will also change. This paper, based on existing research, assumes a Poisson distribution flight a… Show more

“…Traditional mathematical models for terminal area airspace capacity assessment are built upon one or more impact factors, which are treated as constraints to set corresponding objective functions for capacity calculation [13][14][15]. Different models consider different factors, leading to significant variability among them.…”

“…Among these studies, the network theory is used as the fundamental and the capacity is expressed as the maximum flow of the route network, while the route capacity of the network is still calculated by increased interval standard between flights on the route regardless of controller's workload [8][9][10].…”
