Abstract: Since 1956, we have isolated many strains of hydrocarbon-assimilating microorganisms from oil brine, natural gas, oil fields, natural gas fields, and from aircraft fuel and studied the met,abolism of hydrocarbons by Candida rugosa (IIZURA et al. 1964a, b, 1966, 1968, IIDA and IIZUKA 1969.
