Abstract:Ventricular fibrillation (VF) after releasing an aortic cross clamp in patients undergoing open heart surgery procedures is not rare. Ischemia-reperfusion injury after release of the aortic clamp, increased adrenergic tone, and insufficient protection of the myocardium are the possible causes.
