Abstract: Surface chemical analysis of two commercially available polyurethanes, i.e., Avcothane and Biomer was carried out by electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA). The depth which is subject to analysis is in the range of 50-100 A. The variables studied in this study are the difference in exposure to air or to the mold substrate during the solvent casting process.
