“…Our ®nding that phosphorylation of these two serines is not required for c-Jun enhancement of ARinduced transactivation suggests a JNK-and Rasindependent mechanism by which c-Jun can modulate transcription. The prevalence of this potential mechanism is unknown, but it is interesting to note that c-Jun has an interaction with the Ets transcription factor, ERM (Nakae et al, 1995), that is similar to its interaction with AR. Future work will allow us to determine how similar these c-Jun interactions are and whether a common mechanism is involved.…”
