Equation of state model for studying high-pressure compression behaviour of nanomaterials

Abstract: The high-pressure compression behaviour of the nanomaterials 3C-SiC, Zr 0.1 Ti 0.9 O 2 , CuO, AlN, TiO 2 (anatase), TiO 2 (rutile), ␣-Fe 2 O 3 , ␥-Fe 2 O 3 , -Fe and Rb 3 C 60 was studied in two theoretical equation of state (EOS) models. In the first model, we considered the pressure to be quadratic in terms of relative volume change, while in the second model pressure was considered to be quadratic in density. The experimental data show that the second model gives better results. The two models were also stu… Show more

“…The given experimental data is compared with several other EOSs such as, Rohit Gupta EOS, Mie-Gruneisen EOS, Tait EOS, Murnaghan EOS, Birch-Murnaghan EOS,Vinet EOSandKholiya-Chandra EOS. Kholiya and Chandra 17 recently performed computational study on high-pressure compression behaviour of nanomaterials and provided good agreement with experimental data at high pressure also verified by average deviations. The results obtainedfrom these EOSs are presented in Fig.…”

“…The elastic characteristics of MgO have been evaluated by a series of static, ultrasonic, and shock compression studies [4]. Some researchers have analysed the high-energy synchrotron radiation and Raman spectroscopy of copper oxide (CuO) at 24 nm [5]. SiC has sparked a lot of attention since it is a highly hard and robust ceramic with applications in things like automotive brakes and clutches, as well as ceramic plates in bulletproof vests.…”
