“…However, unrelated to these heritable conditions, Shapiro and Baraf (5) reported cases of isolated acanthoma with the histologic findings of EH; furthermore, other acquired solitary lesions, including pilar cyst, seborrheic keratosis, cutaneous horn, solar keratosis, and basal cell epithelioma (1,6,7), have been reported to show these histologic changes as incidental findings. In addition, a focus of EH is often found in normal skin adjacent to or over other conditions, such as squamous cell carcinoma, lichenoid amyloidosis, granuloma annulare, senile sebaceous hyperplasia, intradermal nevus, actinic keratosis, and hypertrophic scar (1,8,9).…”
A case of a dilated pore containing a histologic focus of epidermolytic hyperkeratosis was reported. Our case widened the spectrum to include the association of epidermolytic hyperkeratosis with acquired solitary skin lesions.
