Enhancement of stability of growth, structural and NLO properties of KDP crystals due to additive along with seed rotation

Abstract: Potassium Acetate (CH 3 COOK) and Potassium Citrate (K 3 C 6 H 5 O 7 ) as new additives were added into the potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) solutions in different molar ratios. The metastable zone width and induction period with and without these additives were determined and compared. Dielectric measurements on pure and doped KDP crystals at various temperatures ranging from 313 to 423 K were carried out by the conventional parallel plate capacitor method which results low dielectric constant value diele… Show more

“…The optical properties of the material are important, as they provide information on the electronic band structure, localized state and the type of optical transitions because the absorption of UV and visible light involves promotion of the electron in σ and π orbital from the ground state to higher energy states [15]. The UV-Vis-NIR absorption and transmittance…”

“…It includes O-H stretching vibrations of KDP. Hydrogen bonding within the crystal is suggested to be the cause for the broadening of the peak [9]. The presence of water is well supported by its bending vibrations occurring at the band 1630 cm −1 [10].…”

“…But in addition to the processability, adaptability and interfacing with other materials improvements in non linear effects in devices, led the way to study of new non linear effects and the introduction of new concepts.. Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) is an excellent inorganic nonlinear optical (NLO) material and has considerable interest amongst several research workers because of its wide frequency, high efficiency of frequency conversion, high damage threshold against high power laser. With the aim of improving the SHG efficiency of KDP, researchers have attempted to modify KDP crystals either by doping different type of impurities or by changing the growth conditions [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. In the present study an effort has been made in growing KDP doped with LSerine by slow evaporation growth technique.…”
