Abstract: Purpose Multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are rare cells resident in bone marrow and other organs capable of differentiating into mesodermal lineage tissues. MSCs possess immunomodulatory properties and have extensive capacity for ex vivo expansion.
