Embedded Control of n-Level DC–DC–AC Inverter

Abstract: A generalized multilevel inverter (MLI) with front-end DC-DC conversion stage followed by a synchronized H-bridge is presented. By using this configuration along with the proposed embedded control, any desired number of levels (n) in the output voltage can be produced. The DC-DC conversion stage employs an asynchronous buck converter. The duty cycle of DC-DC converter is varied in the form of m-level piecewise constant (PWC) unidirectional sine wave to produce a similar output voltage across the DC-link capaci… Show more

“…Based on the developed H‐bridge, a new topology has been implemented to reduce the number of IGBTs, DC sources, and standing voltage, but this topology uses a high number of a variety of DC voltage sources . Recently, to minimize the DC sources, a new topology of single H‐bridge with buck converter (BC) has been reported . The drawback of this topology is that the BC carried 100% power with only one H‐bridge.…”

“…There are several kinds of grid-connected inverter (GCI) configurations with a wide operational range, i.e., the two- stage two-level topology [11,12], the multi-level inverter [13]- [16] and Z-source converter [17]- [20]. A DC-DC converter is contained in the two-stage two-level topology to achieve a wide generation range of the solar cells.…”
