“…The success of this procedure might be explained generally in relation to conventional strabismus surgery for esotropia, where normal-size MR recessions alone or recession-resection surgery have frequently been shown to be adequate. This holds true since myopic strabismus is regarded as a progressive disease with its earlier stage not yet necessarily accompanied by any muscle path displacement [11].
