Electrospun Single Crystalline Fork-Like K2V8O21 as High-Performance Cathode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries

Abstract: Single crystalline fork-like potassium vanadate (K2V8O21) has been successfully prepared by electrospinning method with a subsequent annealing process. The as-obtained K2V8O21 forks show a unique layer-by-layer stacked structure. When used as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, the as-prepared fork-like materials exhibit high specific discharge capacity and excellent cyclic stability. High specific discharge capacities of 200.2 and 131.5 mA h g−1 can be delivered at the current densities of 50 and 500… Show more

“…The diffraction peaks at 934.2 and 956.8 eV correspond to the weak peaks of Cu 2p 3/2 and Cu 2p 1/2 , respectively, and the one at 948.1 eV belongs to a satellite peak, which is a typical feature of Cu 2+ . The fine spectrum of K 2p (Figure e) shows clearly separated orbitals of K 2p 1/2 and K 2p 3/2 , in agreement with the reported results . The high-resolution spectrum of S 2p is shown in Figure f, and two characteristic peaks located at 161.1 and 162.3 eV can be attributed to the S–S species .…”

“…S2) [30]. Furthermore, the overlaid C1s spectra for the summer samples displayed visible doublet peaks at 292.8 eV and 295.6 eV and were ascribed to K2p 3/2 and K2p 1/2 of potassium [31,32]. The peak at 292.8 eV also contains an overlapping π-π* shakeup satellite attributed to sp 2 aromatic carbon [33].…”
