We often see an upsurge of humor inspired by tragic circumstances: this happened also during the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak. However, little is known about the emotional response to tragedy-triggered humor, let alone Covid-19 humor. With a largescale survey completed during the early stages of Italy's lockdown, we studied the appreciation (funniness and aversiveness) of different formats of Covid-19 humor shared on social media. Results of an analysis of the role of demographic, personality, and psychological distance factors with linear mixed models showed that Covid-19 humor lacks a "signature" of funniness, but displays a mark of aversiveness. Among demographics, age and gender were key factors: with increasing age and in women, Covid-19 humor was judged as more aversive. Individuals using humor to cope with uneasy circumstances judged Covid-19 humor as funnier and less aversive. Furthermore, the perceived risk of infection amplified Covid-19 humor aversiveness, while kilometrical distance from the first Italian contagion hotspot raised the amusement in global terms. These findings expand our knowledge about dark humor and should raise awareness of the great variation in the emotional impact of Covid-19 humor and of the need to ponder where and with whom to share the laugh about the pandemic.

Empathy is a crucial component to infer and understand others’ emotions. However, a synthesis of studies regarding empathy and its neuronal correlates in perceptual tasks using event-related potentials (ERPs) has yet to occur. The current systematic review aimed to provide that overview. Upon bibliographic research, 30 studies featuring empathy assessments and at least one perceptual task measuring ERP components in healthy participants were included. Four main focus categories were identified, as follows: Affective Pictures, Facial Stimuli, Mental States, and Social Language. The Late Positive Potential was the most analyzed in Affective Pictures and was reported to be positively correlated with cognitive and affective empathy, along with other late components. In contrast, for Facial Stimuli, early components presented significant correlations with empathy scales. Particularly, the N170 presented negative correlations with cognitive and affective empathy. Finally, augmented N400 was suggested to be associated with higher empathy scores in the Mental States and Social Language categories. These findings highlight the relevance of early perceptual stages of empathic processing and how different EEG/ERP methodologies provide relevant information.

The general purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of cognitive behavioral therapy on mind theory skills of children with intellectual disabilities. This research was planned as quasi-experimental. In this study, which was designed according to the "Pre-Test-Post-Test Unequaled Groups Control Group" model, two groups, one experiment and one control, were formed. Cognitive Behavioral Method was applied to the children in the experimental group for a total of 12 sessions of 30 minutes on average for two weeks. In the control group, mind theory, skill, pretest and posttest were taken. No intervention was made to the control groups. Cognitive Behavioral applications in the experimental group were carried out by the researcher. The study group consisted of 24 children between the ages of 12-18 who attend private education institution in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul in 2018-2019 academic year. There were 12 children in the experimental group and 12 children in the control group. In the study, "Unexpected Content Change, First-Order Incorrect Blood Attribution Task and Second-Order Incorrect Blood Attribution Task inde were used as data collection tools in mind theory measurements. The demographic information of children and their families was obtained by using the "Personal Information Form tarafından created by the researcher. Research data. SPSS 25.0 software was used for analysis. Pre-test and post-test scores of children in experimental and control groups were compared using t-test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. According to the results of the research, Cognitive Behavioral Method has a significant effect on mind theory skills of children with intellectual disabilities.
