Electromagnetic Vibration Characteristics Analysis of a Squirrel-Cage Induction Motor Under Different Loading Conditions

Abstract: Electromagnetic vibration is an important excitation source for squirrel-cage induction motors. However, the electromagnetic vibration under various loadings has not been sufficiently analyzed. It is proposed in this paper that the electromagnetic vibration of motors under different loads can be obtained by analyzing the amplitude of the electromagnetic force wave. The Maxwell tensor method is employed to derive the spatial and temporal distributions of the radial force. This paper also calculates the radial f… Show more

“…The radial force waves in the induction motor have been analysed in Ref. [9], and the low‐order forces cause special concern, especially the item ③. It should be noted that the item ① means the radial forces which are the multiples of the product of fundamental flux density and stator harmonic flux density.…”

“…In Ref. [9], the vibration characteristics of a squirrel-cage induction motor under different loads are investigated, and it shows that the high-frequency vibration will greatly increase with the motor load. An analytical model for assessing unbalanced magnetic force due to rotor eccentricity in induction motors is put forward in Ref.…”

“…The power consumption of an excitation system is approximately the sum of the power of the excitation coil and the power of the excitation constant current regulator , which satisfies equations (15) and (16). Considering the excitation voltages of 30 V and 100 V, the power of the sensor when the excitation field is stable is shown in TABLE Ⅱ.…”

“…D.F. Kong [15] obtained the electromagnetic vibration of motors under different loads by analyzing the amplitude of the electromagnetic force wave. According to the modal analysis of the stator core, in the absence of resonance, the vibration response value will increase when the electromagnetic force of the harmonics in the first and second order slots increases.…”
