AbstractA simple mathematical formalism is considered for the description of spontaneous oscillations in electrochemical systems. Emphasis is on the modelling of "cathodic" oscillators, i.e. those that involve a metal ion reduction which displays a potential-dependent catalysis or inhibition, resulting in a negative (differential) impedance. The model appears to be able to reproduce many of the essential features of the experimental oscillators. Some of the model's most severe approximations and assumptions a…
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
