Abstract: Background: Prolonged treatment with analgesic and sedative drugs in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) may lead to undesirable effects as dependence and tolerance. Moreover, during the analgosedation weaning patients may develop clinical signs of withdrawal, known as withdrawal syndrome (WS).
