Abstract: The present short review deals with investigations of CNS-effects from acute and chronic exposure to some organic solvents and solvent mixtures, as measured by human performance. Some of the methodological problems in experimental and epidemiological investigations of effects from solvent exposure are discussed. Problem areas where further research is needed are indicated, and some methodological suggestions for future studies are presented.
