“…The contact angle of water was measured by optical contact angle measuring instrument (Theta Flex, Biolin Technology Co., Ltd., Gothenburg, Sweden, mN/m) at room temperature (25 °C) using the static drop method. The dried film sample (5 × 5 cm) was immersed in 50 mL distilled water and kept at room temperature for 24 h, and then samples were weighed before and after immersion [ 21 ]. The swelling ratio (SR) of the film was calculated using the following formula: where Wt is the film mass at t moment (g), and W 0 represents the initial mass (g).…”

“…The use of ultrasound for dispersion is also considered to be an effective way to destroy aggregates into smaller particles without the need for chemical dispersants [ 20 ]. The results show that the appropriate ultrasonic treatment time (30 min) can improve the performance of the film and effectively disperse graphene oxide and zinc oxide nanoparticles [ 21 ]. Ultrasonic treatment can also effectively reduce the size of biopolymer and form a uniform film, which has a positive impact on the mechanical properties and barrier properties of the film [ 22 ].…”

“…Light cannot directly pass through a crystalline polymer, so refraction and reflection occurred at the PVA/PAAS nanofiber interface [ 55 ]. Further, nanofibers fabricated by electrospinning were opaque [ 65 ]. Light transmittance decreased with increasing EN content.…”

“…The spectrum of the PVA/CMC/ x GnP film showed that upon the addition of x GnP to PVA/CMC, the intensity of other peaks related to PVA/CMC decreased, while the signature band of x GnP at 3440 cm −1 became red-shifted and broadened, possibly because of the synergetic influence of strain and doping [ 36 ]. The characteristic peaks of the PVA/CMC/ZnO NPs/ x GnP films were similar to (but weaker than) those of the PVA/CMC film, and the OH stretch of the former at 3380 cm −1 and the asymmetric –COO− stretch at 1600 cm −1 red-shifted to 3260 and 1590 cm −1 , respectively, in case of the latter, which indicated a strong interaction between these groups and ZnO NPs or x GnP [ 25 ]. The absence of new peaks suggested that the interactions between ZnO NPs or x GnP and the PVA/CMC matrix were purely physical (e.g., hydrogen bonds and van der Waals forces).…”

“…Biodegradability was determined by measuring the weight loss of the membranes buried under soil [ 25 ]. For the biodegradability analysis, the membranes were cut into 6 cm × 1 cm pieces (further 3 cm × 3 cm samples were taken for photographing), weighed, tied at one corner with a thread and buried about 15 cm below the surface of the soil.…”
