Effects of the Physician–Primary-Healthcare Nurse Telemedicine Model (P-NTM) on Medication Adherence and Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) of Patients with Chronic Disease at Remote Rural Areas

Abstract: Chronic diseases are a major cause of death and have a negative impact on community health. “…Telehealth visits increase patients' access to care by reducing travel time and expenses and by providing increased schedule flexibility. Telehealth also allows health care providers to reach patients and other specialists remotely, allows them to reach larger segments of the population, alleviates workforce shortages in remote areas, and improves care coordination [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Patient satisfaction with telehealth has been well documented, particularly among residents from rural communities [2,4,[6][7][8], with as many as 95% of patients rating telehealth visits as "better than" or "just as good" as face-to-face visits [6,9,10].…”

“…For example, the Nielsen Usability Heuristics were used once to evaluate user experience [50]. The Morisky scale combined with HRQoL was used for the assessment of quality of life [72,73]. Momentum's 18 critical criteria and Kingdon's framework were involved in assessing service accessibility in one article [74].…”
