This study investigates the formation process of droplets in a Y-junction microchannel using two immiscible fluids: water as the continuous fluid and oil as the dispersed phase. We have examined the influence of the capillary number, flow rate ratio and viscosity ratio between the two fluids; parameters which determine the length and generation frequency of the droplets. Numerical simulations have been performed using the software Ansys Fluent with the interface capture method Volume of Fluid (VOF) for solving the governing equations. Three different algorithms have been tested for the pressure-velocity coupling: SIMPLE, SIMPLEC and PISO. The results are quite similar for SIMPLE and SIMPLEC, however it turned out that PISO is a better algorithm to solve the two-phase flow. Additionally, another Y-junction is coupled in the initial geometry to observe a symmetric breakup of the droplets and their formation is explained using the pressure field and the velocity field.

We critically discuss recent articles by S. Hoffmann and N. Vogt on historical novae and supernovae (SNe) as well as their list of "24 most promising events" "with rather high probability to be a nova" (Hoffmann et al., AN, 2020, 341, 79 (P3)). Their alleged positional accuracy of previously suggested historical nova/SN records is based on inhomogeneous datasets (Vogt et al.), but then used for the nova search in Hoffmann et al., AN, 2020, 341, 79 (P3). Their claim that previously only "point coordinates" for nova/SN candidates were published, is fabricated. Their estimate of expected nova detection rates is off by a factor of 10 due to mis-calculation. They accept counterparts down to 4-7 mag at peak, which is against the consensus for the typical limit of naked-eye discovery. When they discuss previously suggested identifications of historical novae, which they all doubt, they do not present new facts (Hoffmann, MNRAS, 2019, 490, 4194 (P2)). Their catalog of "24 most promising events" for novae (Hoffmann et al., AN, 2020, 341, 79 (P3)) neglects important recent literature (e.g. Pankenier et al.,

The fundamental and the fluorescence anisotropies of New Red and Erythrosine were measured. The intersection angles between the absorption and the emission dipole moments for New Red and Erythrosine are 4.44 • and 23.26 • , respectively. The average angle shift of the emission dipole moment of New Red is 3.91 • during the lifetime of the excited state. This indicates that it has a bifurcated linear structure with weak rotational capacity. The average angle shift of the emission dipole moment of Erythrosine is 9.25 • , indicating that it has a partial planar structure and is easier to rotate. The spatial ground state structures were simulated with Gaussian 09.
