Abstract: This study tested the hypothesis that sensitivity to the Ca2+-induced loss of mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) and the sensitivity of the loss of ΔΨ to mitochondrial permeability transition pore (PTP) inhibitors are different for neurons and astrocytes.
