A test of the accuracy of an effective pair potential for liquid water Recent x-ray structure data has been used to generate effective pair potentials for liquid sodium and liquid potassium. This is done on the basis of three current theories (Percus-Yevick, hypernetted chain, and Born-Green) which relate the effective pair potential to the radial distribution function. Qualitatively, all the three pair potentials have similar features. Contrary to the recent suggestion of Howells and Enderby, the Born-Green …
scite is a Brooklyn-based startup that helps researchers better discover and evaluate scientific articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by researchers from dozens of countries and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
