“…Pref-1 is a transmembrane protein acts as a molecular gatekeeper of adipogenesis [ 48 ]. Our previous reports showed that pref-1 gene expression level was fat-depot specific, and pref-1 expression level was positively correlated with the subcutaneous adipocyte size, and negatively correlated with the intramuscular and visceral adipocyte size [ 56 ].
